Plans & feature comparison
Monthly, yearly and lifetime plans include the same Kawaii REC features. Only the billing period and update guarantee differ; add-ons are listed separately.
*The pitch/rhythm correction function is only supported when operated from a browser on a PC (Windows, Mac). You can mainly use it for recording, track editing, MIX, and export on smartphones and tablets.
*The 1,000 cumulative paying-user milestone was achieved. Free pitch correction is extended by two months through October 31, 2026. Rhythm correction is paid-only regardless of the campaign period. “Cumulative paying users” means users who have entered paid mode at least once through a payment or paid code; trials and free codes are excluded.
*Effects Rack FULL was automatically granted to existing annual/lifetime owners through 12:00 JST on Aug 12. From 12:00 JST through Aug 31 it was included with lifetime purchases. From September, the standard price is ¥7,000; annual/lifetime Kawaii REC users pay ¥5,000. The VST3/AU installer is free to download, but export requires a valid license.
FAQ
Is installation required?
No need. The currently available web version allows you to record, edit, and export by simply opening it from a compatible browser. Mac and Windows versions are under development.
Do I need an account to save?
You can save in your browser without signing in. Link a Google account for cloud save/load. Cloud storage is 1GB on the free plan and 8GB on paid plans.
Can I use VST plugins?
Native plugins are compatible with Windows and Mac versions. Built-in effects are available in the web version.
Can I export on the free plan?
Yes. WAV/MP3 export is included on the free plan, with up to three tracks including the backing track.
Can I choose the export quality?
Yes. Choose WAV/MP3, mono/stereo and range export. WAV defaults to 48 kHz/24-bit for every user, with 44.1 kHz/16-bit available for compatibility. Paid plans also unlock 96/192 kHz WAV and automatic mastering. A progress gauge appears while exporting.
What audio file formats can be loaded?
You can load audio files that your browser can play and decode, such as MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, WebM, and MP4. Actual compatibility varies depending on browsers and devices such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc. If you are unable to read the file, please convert it to MP3 or WAV and try again.
Is YouTube audio saved or exported?
No. The paid YouTube link is streaming accompaniment only. Video and audio are not saved, extracted or included in an export.
Can automatic mastering be used on the free plan?
Mastering for distribution and CD is a paid-plan feature. Free users can still export WAV/MP3 without mastering.
Is noise processing included on the free plan?
Three processors—environment, lip and sibilance—are paid-plan features. Environment noise is estimated from a silent section; lip noise and sibilance can be treated separately before MIX.
Can I use pitch and rhythm correction for free?
Following the 1,000 cumulative paying-user milestone, pitch correction is free through October 31, 2026. Rhythm correction (auto-align, horizontal note movement, and note-length editing) remains paid-only. Both are available only in a PC browser on Windows or Mac.
Can I set BPM and odd time signatures?
Yes. Set a project BPM and meter, then change tempo or meter anywhere in the song. Automatic BPM analysis from a backing track is included in paid plans.
Please tell me about the production functions included.
You can use audio/YouTube streaming accompaniment, vocal recording, range loop/export, pitch/rhythm/formant correction, note division, key/scale setting, two-system automatic harmonization, automatic MIX, three types of noise processing, tempo map, odd time signature, BPM measurement, automatic mastering, WAV/MP3 export, intensive display, back/forward, and AI singing consultation. Some features require a paid plan.
Can I use Auto Harmony on the free plan?
Key, scale and mode settings are free; the two automatic harmony generators are paid-plan features. For each system you can adjust upper/lower pitch, volume, pan and stereo width, with changes reflected in playback and export.
How do I set the playback position and loop range?
Click the ruler where seconds or measures are displayed to move the playback position. Press A at the beginning of the loop and B at the end to enable the loop. After setting, you can adjust by dragging the left and right ends of the range. Imported audio can be deleted from the clip's right-click menu.
How many voice-coaching chats are free?
After Google sign-in, the free plan includes three chats per day and paid plans include ten. Visit Mashiro's voice-coaching site for more guidance.
How can I use the 10-hour trial release?
After logging in to Google with a free account, you can try the paid features for 10 hours from the plan screen. There is no charge, but to prevent multiple accounts from being used by the same person, we will verify your card on a secure Stripe page. Card numbers etc. are not stored on the Kawaii REC side, and card identification information derived from Stripe is limited to a maximum of 3 times.
Can I cancel my monthly/yearly plan?
Yes. After signing in with Google, open the account menu in the top-right of the app and select “Manage / cancel subscription.” Paid features remain available until the end of the current billing period.
Where can I enter the special code?
After logging in to Google, open the account menu on the top right and apply from the input field under "View plan/upgrade".
Are there any precautions when using Kawaii REC?
Kawaii REC is a web recording app developed by one developer (Yuri Mashiro). We prioritize easy-to-understand, fun, and quick operation so that as many people as possible can express themselves at an accessible price. We focus on a practical, dependable workflow rather than trying to cover every possible format or replicate a full commercial studio. For productions that require professional quality, please consider using a DAW such as Pro Tools, Cubase, or Fender Studio, or working with a professional sound engineer. Since it runs in a web browser, behavior may vary with the browser, OS and device performance. We recommend Windows or Mac with plenty of memory and a large screen. Keep a separate copy of important original audio and save your project regularly.

A reliable, cute recording space for creators!
Whether I'm recording voice acting or singing, it used to take time to launch software and choose effects. Now I can start in three seconds from a browser bookmark, with the tools I need to finish the audio myself.
