Finish a cover or short-form vocal on your own.

Free planRecord a backing track and vocals, tune pitch and formants, choose a MIX such as Studio or Radio, then export the range you need to WAV/MP3.

Paid plansUnlock two harmony generators, three noise processors and distribution-ready mastering. Set pitch, volume, pan and stereo width per harmony.

Voice actor / narrator

Turn a home take into a clean, deliverable voice.

Free planRecord to any vocal track, trim the gaps and shape the tone with Radio/Studio MIX and formants.

Paid plansReduce room noise, lip noise and sibilance from a silent section before MIX, then deliver a polished WAV.

Character voice / ASMR

Give every character a distinct, expressive voice.

Free planCombine note-by-note pitch movement and formants for a brighter or fuller character, with detailed timing edits.

Recorded it—but not sure how to finish?

  • Not sure where to start
  • Pitch correction and mixing feel intimidating
  • Re-recording takes forever

One clear next step at a time.

  • Follow a friendly, visual guide
  • Shape pitch, rhythm and MIX on screen
  • Choose a track, press record and keep moving

5 steps to complete the process without hesitation

1

Import a backing track

Load MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, WebM or MP4 files your browser can decode. Paid plans can also stream YouTube accompaniment. Switch the timeline between seconds and bars.

2

Record your take

Arm a vocal track, record, then drag the clip to another track if you need to rearrange it.

3

Shape the voice

Edit pitch, rhythm, note length and formants note by note.

4

Mix it

Choose from five MIX presets. Paid plans add three noise processors and two harmony systems.

5

Export and share

Export WAV or MP3 in mono or stereo, with range export. Every user gets 48 kHz/24-bit WAV by default and 44.1 kHz/16-bit as a compatibility option; paid plans add hi-res export and mastering.

SMARTPHONE

From recording to rough editing, you can use your smartphone.

The smartphone version shows the recording process, YouTube linkage, and track editing in a large format. The timing of an audio clip can be adjusted using the "Move" tool in the center, and the start/end position can be adjusted using the "Crop" tool on the left and right edges. The seconds/measure ruler is displayed above and below, and you can play from the position you tap.

*Manual editing of pitch/rhythm correction requires detailed operations, so we recommend using it on Windows/Mac.

01

Pitch, rhythm, and tone of voice for each note.

Move the note up/down, left/right in the pitch view, and drag the edges to adjust the length. In addition to division, detailed manual editing, automatic correction of "smooth" and "kerokero", you can use formants to create a thick to bright voice.

🎉 Goal achieved: cumulative paying users passed 1,000! Free pitch correction is extended by two months through October 31, 2026. Rhythm correction (auto-align, horizontal note movement, and note-length editing) remains paid-only.

02

Choose the right recording destination every time.

Arm any vocal track with its R button. Paid plans can apply environment, lip and sibilance cleanup to the dry take before mixing.

Backing track

Vocal 1 · R ●

Paid: environment / lip / sibilance

03

A mix that sounds finished from the first take.

Choose from five presets: As is, Studio, Hall, Radio and Whisper. Every preset analyses level, peaks and dynamics to shape gain, EQ and compression automatically—and you can fine-tune the ambience.

04

Choose the export quality that fits the job.

Export WAV/MP3 in mono or stereo, including a selected range. Every user gets 48 kHz/24-bit WAV by default, with 44.1 kHz/16-bit for compatibility. Paid plans add 96/192 kHz WAV and automatic mastering.

Mono/Stereo48k/24bitWAV/MP3
05

Give the timeline a tempo and a pulse.

Set BPM and meter, then change tempo or meter anywhere in the song. Paid plans can analyse a backing track and estimate its BPM automatically.

06

Use YouTube as accompaniment—without saving it.

Paid plans stream the official embedded player for recording practice. Toggle visibility, mute or solo it as needed. YouTube video and audio are never saved or included in exports.

07

Export only the moments you need.

Set A and B points to loop a tricky phrase, add fades from the clip handles, and export just that range to WAV/MP3. Clear the loop whenever you are ready for the full take.

08

Get practical voice coaching from Mashiro.

When singing or speaking feels stuck, a friendly AI chat suggests simple exercises. The free plan includes up to three chats a day; paid plans include ten.

09

Two theory-aware harmony generators.

Set a key, scale and mode, then generate upper or lower harmonies in 1–2 octaves. Paid plans let you adjust volume, pan and stereo width for each harmony system.

Key: A minor

Harmony 1 · +3rd · Volume 52%

Harmony 2 · −Octave · Width 35%

10

Easy to operate on PC or smartphone.

On a PC, you can centrally display recordings, YouTube, tracks, and pitch. On smartphones, recording, YouTube linkage, track recording/editing are displayed in a large size, with move/crop controls, a bottom ruler, and an export progress popup.

FAQ

Is installation required?

No need. The currently available web version allows you to record, edit, and export by simply opening it from a compatible browser. Mac and Windows versions are under development.

Do I need an account to save?

You can save in your browser without signing in. Link a Google account for cloud save/load. Cloud storage is 1GB on the free plan and 8GB on paid plans.

Can I use VST plugins?

Native plugins are compatible with Windows and Mac versions. Built-in effects are available in the web version.

Can I export on the free plan?

Yes. WAV/MP3 export is included on the free plan, with up to three tracks including the backing track.

Can I choose the export quality?

Yes. Choose WAV/MP3, mono/stereo and range export. WAV defaults to 48 kHz/24-bit for every user, with 44.1 kHz/16-bit available for compatibility. Paid plans also unlock 96/192 kHz WAV and automatic mastering. A progress gauge appears while exporting.

What audio file formats can be loaded?

You can load audio files that your browser can play and decode, such as MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, WebM, and MP4. Actual compatibility varies depending on browsers and devices such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc. If you are unable to read the file, please convert it to MP3 or WAV and try again.

Is YouTube audio saved or exported?

No. The paid YouTube link is streaming accompaniment only. Video and audio are not saved, extracted or included in an export.

Can automatic mastering be used on the free plan?

Mastering for distribution and CD is a paid-plan feature. Free users can still export WAV/MP3 without mastering.

Is noise processing included on the free plan?

Three processors—environment, lip and sibilance—are paid-plan features. Environment noise is estimated from a silent section; lip noise and sibilance can be treated separately before MIX.

Can I use pitch and rhythm correction for free?

Following the 1,000 cumulative paying-user milestone, pitch correction is free through October 31, 2026. Rhythm correction (auto-align, horizontal note movement, and note-length editing) remains paid-only. Both are available only in a PC browser on Windows or Mac.

Can I set BPM and odd time signatures?

Yes. Set a project BPM and meter, then change tempo or meter anywhere in the song. Automatic BPM analysis from a backing track is included in paid plans.

Please tell me about the production functions included.

You can use audio/YouTube streaming accompaniment, vocal recording, range loop/export, pitch/rhythm/formant correction, note division, key/scale setting, two-system automatic harmonization, automatic MIX, three types of noise processing, tempo map, odd time signature, BPM measurement, automatic mastering, WAV/MP3 export, intensive display, back/forward, and AI singing consultation. Some features require a paid plan.

Can I use Auto Harmony on the free plan?

Key, scale and mode settings are free; the two automatic harmony generators are paid-plan features. For each system you can adjust upper/lower pitch, volume, pan and stereo width, with changes reflected in playback and export.

How do I set the playback position and loop range?

Click the ruler where seconds or measures are displayed to move the playback position. Press A at the beginning of the loop and B at the end to enable the loop. After setting, you can adjust by dragging the left and right ends of the range. Imported audio can be deleted from the clip's right-click menu.

How many voice-coaching chats are free?

After Google sign-in, the free plan includes three chats per day and paid plans include ten. Visit Mashiro's voice-coaching site for more guidance.

How can I use the 10-hour trial release?

After logging in to Google with a free account, you can try the paid features for 10 hours from the plan screen. There is no charge, but to prevent multiple accounts from being used by the same person, we will verify your card on a secure Stripe page. Card numbers etc. are not stored on the Kawaii REC side, and card identification information derived from Stripe is limited to a maximum of 3 times.

Can I cancel my monthly/yearly plan?

Yes. After signing in with Google, open the account menu in the top-right of the app and select “Manage / cancel subscription.” Paid features remain available until the end of the current billing period.

Where can I enter the special code?

After logging in to Google, open the account menu on the top right and apply from the input field under "View plan/upgrade".

Are there any precautions when using Kawaii REC?

Kawaii REC is a web recording app developed by one developer (Yuri Mashiro). We prioritize easy-to-understand, fun, and quick operation so that as many people as possible can express themselves at an accessible price. We focus on a practical, dependable workflow rather than trying to cover every possible format or replicate a full commercial studio. For productions that require professional quality, please consider using a DAW such as Pro Tools, Cubase, or Fender Studio, or working with a professional sound engineer. Since it runs in a web browser, behavior may vary with the browser, OS and device performance. We recommend Windows or Mac with plenty of memory and a large screen. Keep a separate copy of important original audio and save your project regularly.
