More than 10,000 total users about three months after launch

RATIO Lab. LLC, based in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan, announces that Kawaii REC, its browser-based vocal recording and editing app, has surpassed 10,000 total users about three months after launch. The product’s public total-user metric stood at 11,400 as of October 24, 2026.

Officially launched on July 12, 2026, Kawaii REC provides a browser-based workflow for people who want to turn their voice into a finished recording, from cover vocals to narration. Users can record, edit, mix and export audio without installing a desktop application.

From a vocal take to an audio file

Users can import a backing track, record vocals, trim unwanted sections, reposition clips, adjust levels and mix tracks, then export their work as WAV or MP3 audio.

Recording and editing are available in desktop and smartphone browsers. A Windows or Mac desktop environment is recommended for pitch and rhythm correction; the features best suited to each device and the editing experience can vary.

Start with a free three-track plan

The free plan supports up to three tracks in total, including a backing track, with recording, editing, mixing and audio export. Standard WAV export is 48 kHz/24-bit. Signing in also provides 1 GB of cloud storage.

Paid plans include unlimited tracks and 8 GB of cloud storage, starting at US$5 per month on the English-language site. Visit the product website for current pricing, feature access and plan terms.

The latest update keeps recording timing settings between takes

Kawaii REC v1.16 Nova, released on October 23, 2026, adds a lock for the final recording timing offset. Users can preserve an adjusted value for subsequent recordings and page reloads, or edit the fixed value directly.

The feature is available to all users. Settings are stored in the current browser and do not sync between devices. After changing recording hardware, users should make a test recording to check the timing.

How the total-user metric is counted

The total-user metric counts distinct user IDs recorded in app-launch events, or anonymous browser IDs when no user ID is present. A person may be counted more than once, including before and after signing in or across different devices and browsers. This is a product usage metric, distinct from registered accounts or monthly active users. Figures are as of October 24, 2026.
